Starting 28th of April: Ideal if you are exploring NED roles for the first time - to help you develop your strategy, prepare for your first applications and understand the landscape of opportunities available to you.
Starting 29th of April: Perfect if you have one or two board roles, and are ready to build the knowledge and network needed for more competitive paid board roles or a Chair position.
This programme isn’t just about learning from experts - it’s about joining a community of like-minded professionals on the same journey and at the same stage. Through interactive sessions, peer check-ins, and a dedicated online space, you’ll work together to refine your skills, share insights, and support each other’s progress.
By leveraging the collective expertise and experiences of your cohort, you’ll not only strengthen your own candidacy but also gain invaluable perspectives and connections that will continue to enrich your journey to the boardroom long after the programme ends.
Board Pathways are included as part of the annual membership to Nurole Plus, a Nurole Plus membership is £600 inc. VAT.
A Nurole Plus membership gives you access to: fireside chats (on topics such as AI and geopolitics), networking events (themed on board topics for productive interaction), workshops, 3rd party board roles and interactive NED discussion forums(to ask questions or just to view and stay current).
The programme is for those seeking structured support to achieve board success, or who feel they would benefit from additional accountability. Through a combination of peer-led and expert-led sessions, the programme addresses the key elements necessary to achieve board success, whether you are starting out or looking to develop your portfolio.
The programme includes:
Monthly focus topics: Each month, we delve into essential areas such as CV preparation, applications, interviews, and more.
Peer group catch-ups: Between sessions, participants meet with their peer group to review progress, share experiences, and maintain motivation.
1. Pathway 1 is for those of you who are starting out. This programme is ideal for those of you exploring NED roles for the first time - to help you develop your strategy, prepare for your first applications and set you up for success.
2. Pathway 2 is for those of you who are developing your NED career. This is the right pathway for those of you with one or two roles (possibly pro bono) who are ready to build the knowledge and network needed for more competitive, paid roles or a Chair position.
The next cohort runs from 28th or 29th April (depending on your pathway) through to September.
Each month includes: Expert-Led Sessions: Dive into essential topics with insights from a Nurole team member (1 session per month). - last Wednesday or Thursday of each month for 6 months.
Peer Check-Ins: Smaller group discussions to review progress, exchange insights, and stay on track (1 session per month). The middle Wednesday or Thursday of each month) ie 2 weeks after the webinar sessions.
Private Online Community: Gain access to a dedicated online space for your cohort to share learnings, collaborate, and stay connected between sessions.
The programme is held virtually.
Groups will be shared on the first session when we will introduce you all.
Groups are allocated randomly but based on your NED experience so you will be in a group of peers who are at a similar stage to you.
Peer groups will be around 10 people in total on the assumption that not everyone will be able to join every peer group. We hope this will mean there will be no fewer than 5 people in your peer group each time you meet.
All the expert-led sessions will be recorded so you can watch them back if you miss them. Peer group sessions with not be recorded as they are more free flow conversations.
